Yamaha handle bar set ups are generally lower than other sled manufactures. I'm 6' 4'' tall and this presents a problem. Without a riser, I usually end up with banged up knees after riding agressively and forget about being able to stand up. In the past, I installed 2'' risers on my 2000 SX700R and 2003 SX VIPER. However, at times, this presented problems, such as increased oil injection or TORS Malfunction - the cable set-ups were barely long enough for the risers. When my RX Warrior arrived, the dealer agreed to install the RX Mountian handle bar set up and cables, which resulted in a 3" lift. A set of BJ Hookers were also added. The set up looks great on the Warrior and performs even better. On November 7, 2003, 12" of snow fell, and I was able to put on a few miles (under 6000 RMP = 30 MPH  ). Standing is effortless - and absolutely no knee trouble. The RX Mountain handlebar set up costs around $90.00, and I am not sure as to the cost of the cables - the dealer covered the cost. This modification is well worth it .

Parts to replace standard bars with mountain bars is a little more than the 90 bucks you mention. Bars, mountain pad, throttle cable, brake cable and brake hose = $326 USD from Ronnies, plus there are quite a few wires (warmers, kill switch dimmer etc.) that will probably need to be lengthened too. Pretty steep IMO.

Hey JDK,
Ultimate and I got our sleds from the same dealer. They're great to deal with I got reverse added to my RX 1, that I did not order mind you, for $300.00 extra. I passed up the limited and got reverse for the same price. I know how some of you feel about reverse  They also quoted me the same price for everything I'd need to put Mountain bars on mine.
Lastnight I put a 2" riser on, thanks to everybody for posting advice on moving the throttle block and undoing the clamps . Works great no binding or increase in idle left or right. My thumb probably won't be as warm though

You are right - the mod will cost more than $90.00. When I snow checked the Warrior, the dealer agreed to incur the cost of the modification (cables, cover, labor. etc.) as long as I paid for the RX Mountain handle bars - which cost around $90.00. The botton line is - with the lengths of the standard cables - there is not much room for a significant riser. Anyone over six feet may want to incur the additional cost because for tall people the mod significantly increases the ride quality and rider - sled interaction. In addition -and more important - it simply looks bad #*$&@ In a few days, I will load a picture.

Although xpolarisguy may disagree, I have to say that I am not a dork. Apparently if you say bad a_ _ , the system replaces it with bad butt. No swearing on a snowmobile website???? They eliminated all the fun!!!!
