I've notice my coolant to be very thick...I've tested it and its like full tilt on my tester,I remember some guy's saying that some sleds had 100% preston and was part of the problem of over boil at idle & over heating on marginal conditions...
My question is as so...should I thin it out with distilled water to a ratio of 50/50...would it improve on cooling & over boil or am I just wasting my time?
I was thinking of removing 1 to 1.5l of coolant and replacing it with distilled water.
The other thing is I want to install a shut off valve for coolant to carbs for a better start up on milder days? :?

There is a product called "engine ice" I used. It's a complete cooling sysem replacement. You can add coolant to it to up the protection from freezeing. It can reduce water temps as much as 70 degrees. It worked great on my 03.
I had a freinds sled I did this for. His sled over heat all the time. He added a rear cooler and it still over heated. I drained his cooling sytem and added this stuff. His over heat issues went away!!!!

The recomended mixture is 60% glycol 40% distilled water. Half and half will give you protection to -35 which would be ok unless in extreme cold. The more water the better the cooling will be. You can also use a product called Water Wetter it increases heat transfer properties and it does work but does not last forever.

Mine was 100% from the factory too. I dilluted it until my Prestone tester said it was good for -40°C. I figure its somewhere around 55/45.
I pulled out over 2 liters, but I did it bit by bit. To do it at once you'd probably have to pull out less than 1.5 liters.

I got a bottle of that Water Wetter and it states to add an ounce for every quart in your cooling system. I have an 04 warrior, does anyone know off hand what is the capacity of the cooling system?

If I'm not mistaking its 4Litres or 1 US gal.
I myself have added 4oz. in my sled.

Actually it is 3.8 litres to one US gallon 4.5 litres to one imp gallon. The US should really drop their old out dated system which makes no sense and join the rest of the world with the metric system which makes sense the way it measures. Your doctors know the correct system to use as they measure your shots in cc's which is short for cubic centimetre.
Everything to do with the metric is based on the most plentiful thing on earth which is water.
1 gram = the weight of 1 cc of water
1 kilogram = the weight of 1000cc of water or one litre of water
1 centimetre = 1 side of one cc of water for linear measurment.
1 metric tonne = 1000 litres of water in weight or 1000 kilograms
1 meter cubed = the volume of 1000 litres of water
centigrade used for measuring temp 0= water freezing 100= water boils at sea level divide the difference of the two by 100 and you have centigrade scale.
1 kilometer = 1000 meters or 100000 centimeters or 1000000 millimeters.
see how everything ties in to water in one way or another and it is as easy as using money in your pocket as it is based on 1, 10, 100 increments also.
