Hey all

Going to dilute my coolant in the attak soon, but my prestone brand coolant tester goes by temperatures, in that yor safe up to -37C for example.

My question is what does this mean in terms of ratio of water to coolant. As in, with a 60/40 mix, what temp. does that equate to on the guage?

Also, what should the untouched coolant already in the sled read on the meter?

Thanks for any help!

I don't know the answer to your question but I know that a 50/50 premixed coolant from a autoshop or gas station would be safe down to -36C or -32F.

I drained 2 litres out of mine and added distilled water plus a rear cooler and never had a problem all winter, I even ran a road side a mild day for a few kms and no overheating nor light or fan come on...

Excellent info!!

Im going to check what the original coolant says, then most likely near 2L

Also, just so everyone knows, from following that chart, you get around -53C for a 60/40 mix (coolant to water)
