rx1 / apex seat conversion

hello im wanting to do the seat conversion however i have a few questions?

will my stock rx tail light work with the seat? also what about the trim around it,along with the exhaust caps?

im new to yammies so this is a little different for me im a old polaris guy

just want to make sure im getting the right stuff for the project

the seat i found is for a 2006 apex so i think it will fit a 2003 rx1 i know trimming is needed on the tank cover but im confused on the rest?

Yes, you can use all the RX1 parts and just change the seat and trim off about 2.5" of the tank plastic cover.

really so my rx1 tail light will bolt up to the apex seat along with the plastic schroud for the tail light and exhaust?? i can also use my stock exhaust caps??

if so im in on this for sure i was figuring by the time i had to peice it all toghter it would be cheaper to buy a boss seat but if it all changes over im in on this

anyone got any pics of there rx1 changed over with a apex seat with all the rx light and plastic reused

id like to see it if possible

All depends on how far you wanna take it!! If all you wants the seat on yours....thats all you need to change All the RX1 parts bolt right back on no problem except the taillight plug is diff. so you will have to cut it off and rewire the plug.

thank you thats what i was looking for my plastic ,tail light ,caps are all custom painted so it will all fit perfect

if im reusing the stock tail light do i still need to rewire it??

yup apex and rx are diff plugs

ohhh so the seat has a apex plug already on it?

or do i reuse all the stock wiring from my rx?

The apex seat i bought did not come with the wire's so i took the one from my stock seat and feed it though.

Yes the plugs are diff iff you fed your stock one through it will work.

i seen on here about the cut for the tank cowl is it 2.5 inches all the way around the bottom of the cover or does it taper from the center down ??

i have my stock seat off and just waiting for my new seat to arrive any day now

I set the cowl on the tank and slid the seat up against it and marked the line with tape and then went above that line by 1" and then cut it. It took a couple trims after that to get it right.

can i cut the cowl why its still attached to the tank?? i figured i could just be careful not too cut too deep around the tank...

ill set the seat up against it and measure it out i heard it was 2.5 inches all the way around the cowl??

im just gonna take my time and make sure i get it perfect
