Has anyone replaced their stock RX1 battery with a better heavier duty battery? IF so, what have you gone with? I was looking at those Odyssey batteries but don't see one that would fit the RX1.

I have an odyssey 680 battery on my BMW bike and believe it or not I got one in my 03 3.5L Maxima car (it saves 27 lbs). Great batteries but prolly not the exact size to fit your battery tray.

Guys here are even using much smaller batteries than stock and some think the stock one is overkill.

What you probably need to do is use one of those auto shut-off chargers to get keep your battery charged and conditioned. I have the original battery on my 97 V Max. By keeping it charged fully all the time I have never sulfated the lead plates which is what happens if a battery sits discharged for any length of time

Oh and on my new vector, I will likely put in a lighter weight battery quite soon

the battery keeps dying. I charged it but it won't stay charged.

If properly maintained you should get AT LEAST 3-4 years on your juice box.

It likely sat in a partial discharged state for too long OR it was overcharged at some point

Your battery is probobly junk.. Just get a new OE one.. THEY ARE OVERKILL BUT WORK WELL!

I had the same issue with my other halfs sled battery(from a rev), thought I was going to have to replace it which sucks because it is a Yuassa battery which are generally more expensive, I tryed charging it with a regular battery charger and it wouldn't take the charge. Took it to my local Yami dealer, they have a certain type of charger that will determine whether or not the battery is good and will charge them accordingly, can't recall the type of charger but after hooking up the battery it took a charge and works fine now. Most of the dealers are instructed to have this type of charger. If you have a good local guy ask him to give it a try, it saved me $100. Well not really as I bought a skid plate! ;)!
