Hi all,

My 03 RX1 makes a high pitched noise at idle after I have been working it hard, a blip of the throttle sometimes settles it down. Could this be a bad bearing, or something in the primary clutch ? Does not do it when cold. The sled has 2400 miles on it.

Any thoughts ? Thanks

Check the belt deflection, could be to tight. Jay

Check deflection...or sometimes the belt will sit lower in the secondary (won't return to the top) when you stop using the brakes (especially if you locked it up). This makes the belt tighter and it rubs the primary causing the squeak.

You may want to take out a washer under each of the deflection adjustment bolts in the secondary. Mine always squealed on a new belt and then I have to add the extra washer back in after the belt wears in.

However, I am trying a deflection adjuster that mounts on the front of the secondary. I am not sure I like it. It takes out the freeplay on the secondary
