Hey guys, I am doing some work on a buddies Rx1 and have an issue with the sled falling on its face around 6000 rpm. I cleaned carbs and all is good, also tried the tors bypass by connecting the 2 wires together by the t-stat. I think I did this right. Check picture. It still bogs. I also revved it with the belt off just to see and it still does this. The sled starts and idles great and has tons of power and once it bogs down for a second it revs out just fine and has lots of arm pulling power. Please help!

Are you sure the pilots are clean? Did you look over the clutching, center bushing on helix and primary cover, check make sure the buttons are good, rollers and weight do have flat post and work freely.

I took pilots out and sprayed them with cleaner and air. Does it with the belt off so not a clutching deal. Anything else?

Could be loose worn coil shorting out. Start sled in dark and mist water across head from a spray bottle. You will see voltage arcs if a coil is bad.

I would still replace the pilots and be sure to clean in the pilot circuit. Just to see if its the carbs when it wants to bog give it some choke.

Didn't seem to matter giving it choke. Bogs either way. Any other ideas? Did I bypass the tors correctly?

Tors looks correct.. Its sounds like either carbs or clutching to me.

Well....guess what?! Whoever worked on these carbs the last time messed up the boots to the airbox and every time I tightened them they were slipping off the bottom. I ended up getting them connected and tightened down but it was a royal pain! Took it out for a spin and....it's a miracle! No more bog! Thanks for the help and input. Glad it's done. Think snow!

Haha! I knew it wasn't the jets cause I've cleaned tons of carbs over the years and knew they looked good. So frustrating! I pulled them apart and saw right away that those clamps didn't seat right cause the boots were all deformed. Whoever put it back together before me didn't do me any favors.

LOL, it was related to the intake.. so it was worth the 2nd look at the carbs
