Hey All,
Been searching the posts for recommended carb jetting for an RX1 with carb filters, holtz springs and a "straight through" exhaust. Saw one recomendation of a 165 main and 22.5 pilot. Wondering if anyone else would recommend something different from experience. I normally ride at about 4000-8000 ft. Any input would be appriciated. Thanks,

Are you going to be riding in deep powder or trail riding? If your going to be riding in deep snow the filters tend to ice up and choke off your sled making it run like crap. Running a modded air box would be better for powder, for trail riding most of the time the filters with sno charger pre filters would work.

For the majority of the time I ride deep powder. I'll probably go with a highly modded air box if people have been having trouble with clogged filters. Either way, I'd be interested in jetting recomendations for both setups.

Just dump those filters they suck with altitude changes---- let me rephrase that they just suck period. The engine needs a air-box to maintain proper airflow it is called velocity charging. With a bike pipe I had to lift the needle two notches and I did go slightly leaner than stock on the main-jet to run at 5 to 6000 feet.

I did have two 1 inch holes in the box below the filter foam when it got warm i would remove the conduit plugs for some extra air .

There is way more to be gained to go to viper clutch-weights with 14.5 rollers. I also messed around with carb springs , but cutting a 1/2 inch of the stockers works best.

cheers.........

Thanks for the info guys, this helps a lot. I'm pretty inexperienced with tuning carbs, has anyone gone so far as to tune with a wideband air/fuel meter?

At that elevation I dont think you can do that much of an airbox mod. I would do a search on Kachess mod and see what he used for jetting and open your air box to match what he did with the tupperware airbox mod. Or just do his mod.
