I had the carb sync done at a dealer. Took them 10 minutes and they charged me $10 US. You don't notice any performance difference, but the motor runs more quiet in the 35-45 mph range.

My motor ran quieter from 50-55. Did the mechanic do something wrong?

Well maybe it was up to 55 mph. Either way, my point was no performance gains but your engine is not as loud. I didn't want people thinking you could get noticeable performance gains from a carb sync.

You are absolutely right. All it does is smooth out the idle.

I disagree.....
FACT : A carb sync can not be completed in 10 minutes….no way…all they did was set your idle for 10 bucks….Synchronizing the carbs will not quiet the motor…Synchronizing the carbs will give you better throttle response when you flip the trigger…ABSOULTLY…..I am not really to sure if it will idle any smother....vacume is so low at this point it is kinda hard to get it real even....
Opinion: Synchronize the carbs before and after you do the filter thing….

I disagree because I have seen Nos Pro do it in 10 minutes and the dealer was kind enough to let me watch their mechanic do it. But either way, it is nice to have the motor run even quieter than normal. Hearing your skis carve through the snow is not something you the opportunity to hear on a 2 stroke.

After a carb sync the TPS, should at the very least, be checked...the setting may not have changed, but I'll bet it did..
