RX1, Likes, dislikes

I only put on about 1400 miles this year on my 03 RX1, but I have to say what a GREAT SLED!!!!! All Stock, could it be upgraded to be better? Maybe. I have had many sleds and this by far is my favorite, however my SX700R is a great sled as well.
 
Add an x-pert X skid; Wiseco low compression pistons; Simons CPR front mount turbo; C&A skiis & a lot more track. Also get straight rate front springs; 13 mm sway bar & maybe some clutching!!! Way too much fun!!!!!!

Turk, sure sounds like a great sled but that is $10,000 in add on's.
My friend just bought a 03 just like you listed with even more goodies for less than that. He does have to add the pistons though.
What a hot rod, can't wait to test drive.
 
Im sure if his budget dosn't allow him to purchase an apex then he dosn't want to put thousands of dollars and several hours into it.


You will love the sled!! I have owned 12 polaris sleds before my 05 rx-1 and its the best sled I have ever owned. My last 4 sleds were xc 700's all with lots of $$$ under the hood. Nice fast trail sleds, I also have buddies with F7, F6, Fusion 900, new mxz revs. All the new sleds I ride em and I love the rx-1 It handles as good or better than all of em. When im in front and I want to be there no one can take me. The sled is fast, handles good, and rides good. I had to add a fat boy spring and other than that its stock. Im 6'5" and I ride hard with no problems. The seat is the right height, The sled is plenty fast, It sounds awsome and unique, It handles great, and rides fine. I ride mostly groomed trials, a little un groomed and some long lakes

I have to agree with everyone, this sled is it! I used to own two thunder cats and to my opinion the RX1 is my fave. The sled still turns heads!
 
I have 04 rx1 with 8500 miles on. I have done things to it but the sled stock is a great sled. Buy a rx1 and ride it and you to might make some minor changes but you will love the sled. I love my rx1 so much that this year i am putting expert x 144 rear suspension in instead of buying a new apex. This is the first sled I have had that I love without saying that there is something they should change. You will love the 4 stroke motor that you do not have to burn oil like the 2 strokes.I own 3, 4 strokes and would not buy a 2 stroke again. The rx1 is a awesome sled.
 
I bought my 2004 RX1 in March '05 with only 600 miles on it. I put a whopping 35 miles on it this past season.....and believe it or not, I encountered zero problems!! ;)!

My personal experience with the '04 was such a plus that I bought a new '05 leftover RX1 a couple months ago.
 
RX-1

I owned a 04 Rx-1 121" track and had 2700 trouble free miles on it. The motor is awesome and will not get blown away by any sleds that I have encountered and actually beat most of them. It gets great gas mileage as I got 14-17 all day long and you never had to worry about getting home...................... The 4 stroke sound is awesome and the quality of finish is second to none. I liked my sled so much I bought a 2005 Warrior when my son totaled my 04 Rx-1. You will not regret buying one......

I am buying my brothers 03' for a second sled. I have a full list of mods I am going to perform. My goal is to give it a NYTRO make over. Seat, Bars, Fox floats, etc..... I have owned 2 other RX-1's myself and wish I never would have sold them. The beauty of the RX-1's now is they can be had all day long in the 4 grand range.....I don't care who you are that's a deal. :-o
 
Likes: Quality, reliability, fit and finnish, milage, power - it's soooo smooth, handling (after upgrading the front and rear suspension).
Dislikes: Skis are no good for off trail powder riding or soft snow spring riding, '03 seat is too low making it hard to stand up, rear shocks when the trails are getting nasty.

All of the dislikes can be fixed with a new set of skis, a new seat, a new pair of aftermarket shocks, and a pivot riser and block to fit the new seat height.

Best part is that I have never encounted any problems that have left me stranded on the side of the trail. Reliability is KING. The 4stroke can take a 5 mile WOT across the lake time and time again without a hickup.

Thats my favorite part. We have a local lake that is about 14 miles long (from bar to bar) and I often hold it WOT for the entire thing. LOVE IT!!! :yam: :yam: :yam: :yam: :yam: :yam: :yam:
 
Its the worst sled you will ever own, best just sell it to me. :moon:


Dislikes: Oil usage!

Likes: Everything else.

ya! 4 grand will get you one all day long right now, thats why I plan on replacing all my old sleds for rx1's.
 
I feel that the seat was to low atleast on the 03's, and ski lift..other than that a great all around sled
