RX1 Rear suspension reinstall

I replaced the hifax and greased the rear suspension on my RX1 and had to replace 6 wheel and bearing assemblies as they are one piece now. When I went to reinstall the suspension, I could not compress the rear ski enough to align the rear mounting bolts. This was the first time in years my ratchet strap would not work. What is the trick and how can I replace just the wheel bearings, thanks for your help.

1 davey: Click on Totallyamaha in upper left. Then go to Tech Pages. Next to snowmobile tech, then chassis/rear suspension. Mono shock skid removal. Hope this helps

Not sure what year that is...

Undo the transfer rod completely to remove preload from the main spring, then it will go into place easier.
