:o| i had posted earlier about back fire in exhaust and seem to have fixed that problem with exhaust donuts and tors adjustment. everything seemed fine and took up north. right out of the box it would not go over 8900 rpm, and never saw over 91 on speedo. im pretty sure coils are shot all 4 arcing. would this cause this drastic of a problem or we talking clutch or carb alignment. i cleaned carbs, what about syncing them or allingning clutch.

you start by cleaning them not replacing them, unless you have lots of money to burn, and if thats the case then send all your dirty coils to me, i know how to clean them. dirty coils will cause missfires and kill the rpm. brake clean and a rag is the cure.

when cleaning remove both rubber pieces from coils to clean. put di-electric grease in plug boot. wipe inside of valve cover to remove carbon trace. remove plugs to clean carbon trace from tops and porclean. all components must be clean or spark will jump to motor instead of firing.

If they are 03 coils they have a design defect. If they have been arcing for a while it may be too late to save them and you would need to upgrade to the new design because they just won't maintain a tight contact on the plug tip. I upgraded and they are pricey!

What is the price? I havn't cheked mine but the sled is acting up sometimes and I'm sure it must be the coils, I've cleaned them but some seem slack. I would definately like to upgrade when I get the cash.
