Yamaha rx1
Hey guys new to the site been reading around a lot and haven't been able to figure out my problem.

So I just purchased a 2005 Yamaha rx1 this past summer I'm the 3rd owner of the machine and it has a little over 7000 km on it.
So my problem is it's been having issues with starting lately.
So I would go out and start it and let it warm up and it would turn over once and make like a bang that comes from the front of the machine. Almost like a backfire but it actually stood turning over when it makes the bang.
So I would stop try again and it would do nothing and then start turning over again and it seemed like the battery was almost dead but when I put it on the charger it was at 90% charged. And even after a full charge I would still have the issue. But it only did this on cold starts. Warm starts it was fine and wouldn't have any issues turning over.
Sorry for the long description but hope someone can help me.
Merry Christmas everyone ! Thanks

Just went through this when I sold mine. Make battery is good and charged and clean carbs well....all jets and pilot.

Starter is underneath the air box on the same side as the oil tank

Yeah. Although I used startron in the fuel, just sitting in my garage for over a year with little use bunked the pilots. The other jets and carb areas were spotless. Crap battery also. These things have to used and throttled to keep them running right.

that's why for year's I start mine every 3-4 week's warm up to 175 deg, jack up rear and whomp it a couple times-----alway's run's perfect-----year round.................

Mine do the thump thing too when it's cold, and I suspect it's like a hydro lock when the jam up happens.....that's when you should just bump the key and not hold it....and your battery is craps probably
