just picked up an apex mtn. wondering what i should do to her. like lil mods or as far as putting accesories on it. ordered skid plate already, and put excell exhaust on it so far. was wondering about air flow. do these machines bog in deep snow. if so what is the fix.

I have had my Apex for a year now - totally stock. I am adding scratchers this year. They are cable style since I have reverse. I also yanked the sway bar to see how I like it. I ride mountains exclusively.

Look around the site. You will find some tall riders like to raise the bars, add clutch kits etc. There's a lot you can do if so inclined!

Ice Scratchers

Het TonyD,

I've never been fortunate to ride in the mountains, I can only dream about it but I am curious as to why you need ice scratchers? Is it for roads to get there? Thanks

Groomed trails up to riding areas. They get packed like any other trail and can be rock hard first thing in the morning. especially in spring. The sun softens the trail during the day then it freezes hard over night.

Its not fresh powder everyday :( there are many times you need them when the snow is hard packed.

Also keep in mind we are running 2-2.5" tall lugs so the hyfax is even farther away from the snow and many times we remove most of the idler wheels to take off weight. Eric

How do you like the Excell exhaust, I'm on the fence between the Excell and a tunnel dump. I've heard issues on snow building back pressrue on the tunnel dump systems andthe excell exhaust would be pointed right at a jerry can. Can this get hot enough to melt the jeery can plastic?

I'd recommend a riser if you haven't done this already. Replace the stock gas rack with a lighter more functional rack (just about anything is better).

not really sure yet sled has 0 miles on it.think im gonna ditch all that plastic back there. thats a good question as far as melting the jerry can. could go both ways. where are you guys installing the aftermarket leds after you get rid of the plastic.
