Looking to buy a used Phazer so, I did a search on A:safety recalls, B:technical bulletins, C:updates, D:upgrades. Anyone want to eliminate duplicates, Add additional, note year(‘s) affected, Warranty or Not, add links ect. I am not dissing the Phazer I simply would like to get a handle on any possible issues and provide a tool for new owners. Thank you !

1-Updated starters
2-Tunnel closure
3- Ground wire for the main harness
4- Foam in the air box and the rivets that hold down the screen
5- Steering panels and plugs to keep ice off of your steering linkage
6- Radiator screen
7- Radiator fan
8- Wiring Joint connector
9-Hinge rivet kit
10- Idler arm nut kit
11- ECU kit cold start kit
12-Rear suspension update
13- Heavy duty front arm
14-Exhaust header flanges
15-Reverse shim
16- Snow guards to reduce snow buildup on the tunnel
17- Ball joint bolt loosening in 07
18- Steering update in 08
19- Upper & Lower ball joint wear

Most of that stuff isn't recall. Who pays for what is going to depend on your relation ship with your dealer.

I believe only some 07's didn't have radiator fans.

No the radiator fan is not a recall in 07. If you want to get it for free you have to complain to them about it and you have to show them that your sled is overheating.

Also, you don't need to upgrade the starter. Pull the starter off, take the two long bolts out that hold it together and then Loc-Tite them and reinstall.

What is #9? Wiring joint connector? Never heard of that one.

Just missing the rear suspension update. Many got that covered.Updated most of skid to new specs with new arm,Link, bogies etc.Alot of this is in the sticky at top of Phazer forum. Was only 2 actual recalls.Balljoint and steering recalls but they did alot more while they were in shop as part of those recalls. You have it covered.Very nice to see a list like that. ;)!

"Will Yamaha update the parts without them being broken? Meaning is it a bulletin that reads, only replace if broken, or replace if customer want the update"?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I pulled that from an '07 posting.

Wondering about the "W" arm issue... Mine's not broke yet (from what I can tell). There's 2100 miles on it.
I been reading thru all the old posts and just read of everyone's already broke MANY times!
If anyone bought their's new was there ever anything wrote that said bring it in and we'll swap parts out for the "update kit"?
One of the local dealers says since it's not broke Yamaha won't do anything with it (even though it is still under warranty till Feb. 2012) An "update" kit is $350-400 now. That's seems like crap since they know it breaks!
Called another dealer in Central NY, get a service dept moron who blows smoke up my #*$&@ by saying: "we've never had that issue, they have an update kit available?" then after I explained the problem to him/ saying it's been all over TY since 2007, he replies: "maybe they are in different regions". WTF????? :o| Hit the pipe after lunch bro? :die

So I wanna get it right before some thing happens on the trail and I get boned on the first ride out then have to wait another 4 weeks for parts...

What does the warranty cover then? Guess not parts that just "have to fail first" huh? That's a bunch of #$%&* really...

I'll make it fail.... Sorry guys, rant over.

I went to the hardware store, bought a piece of 3/16 x 1 inch steel and cut a couple corner braces out of it. My buddy welded it up in about 5 minutes. Really easy to do once the skid is out.
