First let me say, I have a 2015 Cat 7000 XF LXR. Bought the Cat instead of the Viper because I got a great price on a left over one.($8,995). Bought the Maxflow 7000 for it, but first I wanted to put 500 miles on the sled before I changed mufflers, so I could get a better feeling in performance gains. I am no lightweight, as I weigh 250, and 270 with all my gear on including my TecVest. On a nice hard packed trail, I could only hit 84 MPH, and 8,650 RPM with stock muffler with 460 miles on sled. I then changed oil, filter, and put on the Maxflow 7000 with 525 miles on sled. Now at 900 miles on the sled, I found the same type of trail with about the same temperature as the run I made a couple weeks ago with the stock muffler. I was able to hit 88 MPH @ 8,800 RPM's. Was it because I have more miles on the sled, or possibly different conditions? I am not sure, but thought I would pass this information along. One thing, Mike said when I purchased the Maxflow, that I might hit the a REV limiter, and may need to go with slightly higher weights in the clutch, but so far I have not hit the REV limiter. The sound is real nice, but a little louder then I though it would be at idle. In NY, they are pretty picky on after market exhaust, as they should be if they are too loud. Might have to sell it, but not yet sure, and I really like it.

As for sound when not on the throttle is not louder then my wifes stock sled IMO.
But when I hammer it it's got a real nice sound (not overly loud)
My wife just purchased one for her sled zr7000 (completely stock) I'm heading out shortly to see if there is any noticeable difference in power compared to the stock muffler
I never had a chance to compare the just stock muffler to the aftermarket can on my sled because I did the airbox mod, clutchkit and muffler over the summer
