We usually come down on the Friday after work - catch a few hours sleep and then hit the road around 10pm and drive through the night to arrive at the gates around 6am. Every year previously we've just grabbed a hotel closer to Minnie along 694 for the Sat. night and usually go to the mall for a few races at the Silicon Speedway. Wondering what goes on Sat. night around the track, and if we should maybe be hanging around for some of the 'festivities'?
Sorry lakercr, I don't have an answer for you but do you book your hotel in advance? Which one do you stay at? I'm thinking of heading down there this year and someone was telling me that things get book pretty far in advance.
Yeah, I doubt that there will be anything avail. near the track still available, but Expedia has tons of hotel rooms within a ~20 minute drive. I haven't booked mine yet, but I will be in the next couple of days and can let you know the details...

We usually do some grilling at our trailer back in the pits on Saturday night, you're all more than welcome to stop by & say "hi" if you can get into the pits!
Get a room at Raddison inn in Roseville. You can book it on quickbook.com for $64 a nite for 2 people. Great pool & hot tub! Lotsa sledders stay there & it is a very hi end hotel.

We stay in Arden Hills about 10 min from the track. The reason we do is theres a Bar there called the Blue Fox that has awesome food and really good live Minneapolis music. Can taste the ribs now...BBY
Plus the Beer is cold and the scenery is nice...BBY

Hey Matt, does your hotel have a hot tub?
We used to stay at the Holiday Inn in Arden Hills, but were switching this year to a place right next to the bar. We may have an extra room as some of the guys backed out last night. You can sleep up to 4 in the room. Not sure if theres a hot tub there..BBY
