Sea Foam In 05 RX1

YES!! One of the chronic issues seems to be carbon build up. Seafoam will knock this down as well. I have been using this in all of my gasoline powered stuff. I.E. , trucks , lawnmower, chainsaw, sleds .. you get the idea LOL. Great product!

You can absolutely NOT clean your carbs with snake oil. If your carbs need to be cleaned, the only way to do it is complete disassembly, a fine wire, and compressed air. Snake oil *might* help clean rings. Doubtful if you will experience any benefit at all from it.

My garden tractor(20hp onan twin)would idle erratic, rev up and down.Under load it was fine.I knew the idle circut was plugged somewhere.Took the carb off twice couldnt find the problem, every passage way seemed to be open.Put sea foam in the gas tank and within half a tank it idled perfect.Ive had this tractor for at least 6 years.

My yfz 450 quad was pushing oil out onto the swingarm from the airbox.(blowby) I ran some through the gas yfz and no more oil on the swingarm.

On the back of my sled you see yellow rear bumper. It gets exhaust onto and i just have to clean it off with carb and choke spray. When i put seafoam in it big chunks of carbon were all over the bumper.

I was as skeptical as anyone before i tried the stuff. It works in my honest opinion. Its cheap give it a try.I bought a case of it last time i use it as perodic maintenence in my diesel pickups.

I've used sea foam since my '05 was new. Over 7,000 miles and I've never cleaned the carbs. Runs like a top and 15-16 miles to the gallon consistently.

Question:
Will sea foam help a power valve motor? As in the valves themselves? I tore 2 cables out of my powervalves on my SRX. I clean them now but never knew I had to before that. Those valves were not cheap!

Snowdog, At the end of each trip with my Viper, I would fill the tank and add 1 can of Seafoam. Used Amsoil Interceptor after first tank of Yamalube was run through. My motor has almost 12,000 miles on it. Never had a single issue with powervalves. Cleaned them at the end of each season, never touched them during the season. Cleaning them was a simple as spraying carb cleaner on them and wiping down. Best of luck with your decision.

Have you ever freshened up that motor? (pistons & rings)
If not thats great that you have gotten 12K on that thing. I think I would be throwing pistons in my SRX if I hit 10K!
I'll try the Sea Foam and see what happens!

Thanks

Put pistons and rings in it at 9,500. Inside of the engine was perfect! Looked brand new. Buddy couldn't believe it when he saw it LOL! Still have it as a backup, but it sits in the shed whimpering in loneliness LOL!

Had a viper too. Liked it but it never could touch my SRX. I threw everything at it and the SRX was still faster. Still have the SRX...this runs like a raped ape! :yam:

Just run golden spectro snow injector oil.You will never have to clean your powervalves again, very good oil.

heard of it but where do you find it? I broke those valves using the yamalube. I have since gone to Amzoil. I plan on peeking at the valves this weekend. i'll see how they are doing. I know they are still working cuz the sled still runs great.

I became a firm believer in SeaFoam when I ran it in my '91 Honda Nighthawk bike. I knew the carbs needed cleaning, idled rough on cold starts and was only getting 40mpg. A couple of tanks of gas with SeaFoam, no longer rough idle and mileage is up to 46mpg. Pretty good snake oil.
