Seafoam

No debate necessary, it's good stuff. A lot of guys on here swear by it, including myself.

I've found it works miracles on all small engines, especially chainsaws and other 2 strokes of sorts. Lawn mowing equipment too. I haven't had ANY luck with the Startron however, which is in contrast to what everyone else says.

I've added to my gas for years, but I wont use when I put them up for the season this year. Every year I still have to do a complete cleaning of all of my carbs. So at the end of this season I am using Stabill.

Are you running it through your sled for at least 10 minutes before shutting it down for the season?

And are you running it periodically during the season while riding?

If you are doing neither, then I can understand the carb cleaning requirement but if you do both of those things I mentioned I can't see a reason the carbs would need to be cleaned yearly, or ever again for that matter?

I swear by the stuff, it works great imo and judging by the cleanliness of my XLT carbs, I am not just making this stuff up.

yes, I put it in the tank and let the sleds run for @ least ten minutes. I used to start them once a month, but have not the last two summers. No place to plug in a tender where I store them now. However, when I could start them in the summer, I would still have to clean the carbs in the fall.

I do love the stuff when you run it thru a vacuum line on my vehicles. smokes like a fog machine for a few miles (very cool) but does give the intake, plenum, and injectors a good cleaning.

Surprised to hear that as anyone I talk to says the only carbs they have to clean are the ones that "WEREN'T" treated with Sea-Foam.

What signs are you getting that lead you to believe your carbs need cleaning?

both sleds run like crap in the fall, after a good cleaning, they run great. This season I had shellac in 2 carbs on the Rx1. I've used seafoam since it was 2.99 a can, (long time). I do like it, but not for storage any more.

Indy next season use airplane gas or hi test to put your sled away. I am not sure in the USA but in Canada the hi test still has no ethanol in it. The air plane gas still has lead in it and its awesome but expensive I have used both with no problems.

That also leads me to believe he must be purchasing crappy gas somewhere??

Also, Sled Dog, not "ALL" Hi test gas has ethanol in it but some do.

I just purchased some Shell gas and it states on the pump Ethonal free for the V-Power but I have heard countless times, depending on the brand/company, some Hi-Test being sold "DOES" contain Ethanol.

I do not know if it is "Crappy" gas, but it works fine in all vehicles, toys, and equipment. So I should store them with ehtanol free fuel?

just drain the carbs, use stabil ethanol treatment in the tank and be done with it
