Howdy, I have changed the chaincase oil in the rx1s , and replaced the oil with synthetic atf? amsoil, and was wondering why the seal leaks? do you dry the seal out? or line it with oil prior, to be put back on? noticed it yesterday, leaking,
Is there any posts on this subject ?RX1 Yooper

You'll have to take it off, and check it out. Maybe you didn't get the gasket on correctly. Next time drain it without removing the cover.

There is a 10 or 12 mm plug in the tunnel behind the chain case to be used for draining eliminating the need for removing the cover.

That cover is a PITA to get off, but it really is the best way to change the oil in the case. There is a tendancy for metal shavings to stick into the very bottom and upward facing edges within the case, and the only way to get those out is to wipe them with a rag.

I usually drain the case, put the plug back in and put a little solvent in the case. Rock the sled around and drain again. Blow a little compressed air through the case with the plug out to dry things a bit and refill. I haven't had any problems in over 30,000 miles on my sleds doing it this way.
Just don't let the solvent sit in the case for a long time and it won't affect the seals.
