1681, how do I test pressure

check with a cylinder pressure guage and see if it bleeds down and is getting pushed into the crank.

would it not then blow out the crankcase breather?

I just spoke to a 14 year Yamaha mechanic and he said if it is high pressure it is most likely from a blockage elswhere.
He said same stuff, check seal, o ring, shaft etc

I am perplexed and at wits end, I might have to bite bullet and take to Yamaha dealer.

sometimes its worth the money to put the head ache on someone else.

your seal may not be center to your shaft.we change a lot of clutch housing.the casing where the seal is not machined center to the primary shaft.
