2012 phazer MTX
I'm doing a mod to my phazer to shorten up the seat with salvaged parts...so this leadse to ask, does anyone know if YZ 250F seat covers fit a phazer MTX seat? Or one that will?

Absolutely, I'm looking to start in November. I'm ordering parts as the come available for cheap since this is alpha stage. No sense in destroying new stuff.

I've been considering a similar project, with the goal of reducing weight and increasing space towards the back of the tunnel. I came across a picture a while back of a Phazer that had a shorter seat. It looked pretty nicely done, but I have no idea if it was a modified original seat, one-off custom, etc. I've heard of people making their own seats, but I'm not sure what type of foam they're using. I would guess some sort of waterproof urethane foam, but haven't been able to find out for sure. Unfortunately I have no idea if a YZ250 seat cover would fit, but my guess is that it would be too narrow, unless there is a lot of excess. You may want to check out this site, and possibly ask them as it looks like they deal with a lot of different seats. http://www.eastcoastreproductions.com/

Here's a pic of the Phazer with the short seat:

I believe that I now own that particular seat. If I am right that was off a part out out of indiana or illinios? Anyway, the one I have on my wife's sled is a custom fab from the original seat. It was cut and re-covered. Nicely done modification.

That sounds about right, the sled was being parted out because they used the engine for a school project. I tried to get ahold of the seller, but never had any luck. The seat looked so good that I had to wonder if maybe there was another Phazer model I never heard about that came with that seat.

Well as I do my mod I will make a video, and post it here...again I won't start until November but I will have it complete before December ends. Thanks for the photo Snowmixer.
