Does anyone happen to know how much higher a 2006 Yamaha Attak seat would be compared to a 2005 RX-1 seat?
How much would it take to put a 2006 Yamaha Attak seat on a 2005 RX-1?
Would it be worth the cost and effort?
I am looking for a higher seat that will make it easier for me to go from a sitting position to standing position while riding.
I also want the seat to be fairly firm.
Thank you very much for any help and guidance.

LAJAMA: Check both of these post. Lots of info. I just put an 07 Nytro seat on my 05, but have not ridden the sled yet.

I was one of the guys involved in this thread:

It is a very easy mod to do. You stated that you were looking for a firm seat. If you want a firm seat you may want to check out the Nytro seat. The Apex seat is a lot softer than the Nytro seat and with the Nytro seat, you dont have to change any wires to connect the tail light. The Nytro seat has the same connectors as the RX sleds and plugs right in. The Apex seat will require changes to the connectors in order to plug in the tail light.
Any way you go you will LOVE the change that the seat makes.
PS I also raised the bars 3 1/2 inches with a ROX riser. You will have to raise the bars.

I did like Dajudge did and went with the Nytro seat. Firmer than an Apex and worth every penny. Recommend rolling your handlebars ahead as it will raise the height of them slightly giving it more of an sport/aggresive feel. Just seems to fit the machine better after putting the seat on.

What DaJudge and jlarrabee says 100%.
I installed a Nytro seat on my turbo as well. It is a lot taller than my '05 RX-1 seat and a little firmer too. Don't now how much taller in inches tho.

) Anyway I did a FAQ and showed how to transfer your rx1 wiring to the new seat with minimal evasion. Works great!
