Hello,
I hope all are ejoying some good riding.
I have a tear on the seat of my 05 RX-1. It is about an inch long. What are some options for repair? It is coming down from a seam on the side of the seat. I want to do something before the tear gets worse.
Thank you for your help.

option 1, find one on here and replace.
option 2, wait until the end of the season and take to an upholtsery shop and have the torn panel replaced, and maybe add some more foam while they are in there.
option 3, colored duct tape

My 03 rx1 seat was starting to tear on the right side, was thinking of repairing the stock seat but instead i went in the classifieds and found an apex seat for a very good price.I couldn't be happier, will never go back to the stock seat,i feel like im driving a new sled now,no more back ache.Best mod for the Rx1.I can ride all day long now.......lol

There is also a leather/vinyl repair kit available at most auto stores(permatex makes it).Kit includes some backer fabric, adhesive, various colored vinyl compounds and a little iron to heat cure the repair.Repairs are very durable. It is hard to get an exact color match but definately better than a rip and very cheap.I have used it several times with great results.Best to do a test repair on a scrap piece of materiel to get a feel for the process.

I have an 05 rx-1. The seat ripped along the seam at the back. The seam dint let got it just ripped there. I took it of and into a standard auto glass, they took the cover off an glued some stuff in behind. It took about 3 hours cost 30 bucks, and looks good as new!
