Seats for RX-1 with stock exhaust location

I looked around on here. Me and another rx-1 driver want to get a better higher seat and also lighter. The boss seat looks nice how much lighter is it?? then sstock i know stock is like 30lbs and they say like 10 for the boss seat?

Why not go with Mountainmod.com, Murray is a great guy to deal with, service to top notch, plus he is in BC. Look for pics/post from Tundra, he is from Que and has one on his RX1. Those numbers sound about right, have a look on his website.

Hmm not bad $700cdn. So basicly its about a 20-25lbs weight savings.

Stock seat doesn't weigth 30 lbs. You'll save about 10 lbs total by doing the BOSS seat mod. No more then that unless your doing exhaust relocation , etc...

Nytro, Apex or Attak seats will fit on the RX-1, modding the tank cover and wireing contacts needs to be done (not nytro seat, contacts are the same as RX-1) I don't know the weight difference, haven't had them on a scale, guess they are pretty much the same weight. Together with a 1.5" pivot and a 2-4" bar riser sitting on my sled now feels like sitting on the 2006 sleds, ergos got more rider forward that is.

I put a Nytro seat on my Rage. It cost me $460.00 from the dealer. Shipping weight on the box was 26 lbs. I am sure the box was 4 to 5 lbs with the extra cardboard inside.

Thanks for the compliment, but I think that is what these forums are all about, helping each other out if we can. I have to give thanks to 4fighter as the one who did it first and inspired me to do the same There are several more who have done it to their sleds also. It is just nice to be able to come here and get the info that you need to do things like this.

Like I said, my Nytro seat was 26lbs with the box and other shipping material. My guess ia that there was at least 5 lbs for cardboard box and other cardboard material. I reused the box to ship my old seat when I sold it.

'04 RX-1 seat weigth, without tail light assembly is 13 lbs. '06 Nytro seat weight is 18 lbs with tail light assy installed. Weights were measured using a Rapala digital fish scale.

BTW - They may measure way high to please them anglers, LOL, I'm one for sure. Hope my scale is accurate tho. Largest salmon I ever caught weighted in at 30 lbs

You may have a lot of water in the seat. (?) Maybe the older seats are heavier. (?) The Boss seat may save you a few lbs in that case, but I beleive the Nytro seat is better made and they look better. Of course that is my opinion.
