When I purchased my 2005 Vector last February, the dealer included oil filter and Yamalube 4 stroke 5W30 oil. I changed the oil last spring but I am contemplating if I should go ahead and put in the recommended 0W30 oil.
I am going to the UP in January and will most likely put on 800 miles. Should I or shouldn't I change the oil prior to the trip?
Much appreciated

i doubt you'll have any problems other than slower cranking speeds in sub zero. i ran 5-30 myself without any starting problems in both the rx1 and venture, so unless you like spending money i wouldn't worry about it

I agreee...
I used the 5-30 for the first oil change and the sled sat outside at the cabin in sub zero weather and cranked and started without hesitation.

The only time I had problems starting my sled with 5W30 was when it was 40 below. The UP normally doesn't see temperatures that cold so you should be fine.

Just let her go.... It'll be ok.. Yammie used the 5-30 oil for a few years without to many problems.. The 0-30 oil is better, next change just use it and don't look back... Goog luck finding any %^&&$# snow. This winter is nearing a wash out very soon.

I appreciate the great advice and will change over to 0W 30 at seasons end.
