Went to give sled a final lookover before a weeklong trip I leave for on Friday and found what appear to be spider-cracks in the movable sheave on my Attak. Maybe this could this just be from the casting? Was gonna grab the secondary off my SRX. Are the SRX and Apex/Attak secondary clutched interchangeable? I know the spring and helix are different.

On parts fiche it shows two slightly different part #'s but have heard others said it will work and they are interchangeable.

What Metallicat said. Just about every Yamaha secondary clutch will show some casting flaws. No worries.

Your SRX and Apex secondary clutches will interchange along with the helix and springs.

Thanks. I originally thought casting marks....crack...casting marks....crack...hmmmmm. Just out of curiosity, I looked at the backside of the moveable sheave on secondary and saw the same crack formation....or at least what I think looks like a crack. I swapped the secondary clutch off my SRX just in case. Here is a shot of the front back side...still think casting marks?

X3 casting marks, check the secondary on the srx clutch your going to use odds are it has the same marks. Have fun on your trip, and ride safe!

Thanks for the advise guys. Casting marks it is! It just erked me with the possibility of that thing coming apart doing 80-100 down a frozen lake .......not that I would ever ever ever ever ride that fast :sled1:
