Tonight I cleaned the clutches and made sure there was no belt strings etc from the blow out.
2 questions. The first is I have about 1/8 inch play in the secondary and it is not sitting tight against the spacers - is that normal?
2nd - I am seeing very small what appear to be cracks on the outer sheeve of the secondary on the bottom half. They are in the inside grooves almost in a spider web fashion. What does this mean and will it cause problems in the future? I need to know sooner than later for possilbe warranty issues.
1. The secundary clutch is floating (it should be play in it) It should move to perfect offset within the "play"..
2. Are they cracks or are they just a web of residue from the cast? The cast that Yamaha uses are from like -97 and it has become worse and worse the last years. Mine has it aswell, It is ugly but nothing to worry about. I put windageplates on mine and now I cant see it...
