Anybody here with turbo using a team rapid reaction secondary? Right now I have a roller rooster 47/43 secondary using the stock(white )spring wound at 90 .Works ok but I think its works better with the stock 45 and spring.
I can get my hands on a team rapid reaction secondary with a a 66/44 helix to try. They say big horsepower likes a big helix ? ANy truth to this? I have a few hrs to figure it out so hopefully someone can help me here. Thanks

47/43 Roller rooster shifts out like a 57/50ish regular billet helix...pretty aggressive!!!!

Hardcore, a buddy of mine has a 51-45 helix in his sled an 05' Turbo same as mine with the same track and gearing, I run a 44-38, my sled slightly pulls his. My point here is with all the testing that I have done, a shallow helix clamps the belt better, clutches run cooler, pulls as good or better then the steeper helix's and back shifts way better. I am speaking of mountain sleds. Maybe on short tracks for lake racing the steeper helix is better? I used to run steeper helix's in all my Poo's, Doo's and 2 stroke Yamy's but this for stroke is a different animal. It don't care about the helix for up shift. Just what I have found with hundreds of hours of testing.

HC...try more primary weight, less helix & less secondary tension. That sounds like too much helix for mountains...alltho good for flat stuff!

I am running the HH's and the Roller rooster with my turbo. I am still fine tuning but here is what I currently have. Stock primary spring. HH's with large bolt and 2 thick washers in the mid, large bolt with 3 skinny washers in the tip. heal is empty. I found this let the turbo spool up faster. Works great for boondocking. Only problem is I need more weight in the tip. It does not pull well on the top end. I am going to put in a PSP primary spring and distribute the weight a little differently but goign to keep the heal empty.
Now my 2nd is the roller roster with a 43/39 helix, silver spring wraped at 100 degrees. That seems to work pretty well.
Hopefully we will get some more snow so I can test this new set-up. If so, I will let you know how it works out.
Oh, and this set-up is for the mountains.

I'm running mine with a B-W-B spring and about 54 grams in the primary, and I've got a 50/42 in my Team right now. I haven't got a whole lot of riding in with it but seems to pull hard and backshift real nice, running at 8800 rpm. I did try a 54/42 and seemed like it was to much for the rear mounts, not quite snappy enough.
