Serious Gains for a stock Nytro. Hindle and Hurricane

Cripes I wonder how far you can safely rev the Nytro motor?Your HP was not falling off at all.Was it hitting the rev limiter at end of run?

Yep, hit the rev limiter almost every pull on the dyno @ 9400 rpm.
Acurate dyno results showed up to 9200.

At 9400 is where the stock ECU starts to pull back timing on the Nytro. I have added an Ignition Controller to my PCIII for this year.

What did you set your rev limiter at ?

Mach9 what was the air box mod like?

I can't fully comment on this.
Dave @ Hurricane is working on options.
But...
I can show a chart Stock Air Box vs Pat Hauck's Air Box Lid.
Enjoy
See attached... ;)!

My sled made similar results as Mach9's..I did my stage tune the weekend before, weather was 10 above zero and my numbers read low aswell...baseline was 127.9 hp I think...and I gained 14.6hp. The difference between our setups is I'm running a DB reducer and an RB3...airbox mod was the same...and it was worth 6+ hp. We also did notice a 10hp loss ( similar to the Dynotech session ) when the system was added without any other mods, but like we said, The Hindle full system needs airbox mods to make big gains and bring losses back...and that has now been proven...2 different sleds, same dyno/operator, similar mods...same results. Now my setup is 4 peak hp lower, but that is due to the DB reducer..which also makes the sled very rich, but a proper map fixes that. My sled also pulled to 9200 with the Hindle, and in one pull made the same peak hp from 8900 to 9200...this system really flows! Dave Marshall did an EXCELLENT job on these 2 sleds, so I must thank him...he's a heck of a guy and a very smart tuner..my hat goes off to him!

I though the clutches efficiency goes to hell after 9k? I was under the impression that while your engine may make more power, you might not be putting that power down as efficiently.

Ryan,

By any chance do you have DB readings for stock vs Hindle with reducer vs Hindle w/o reducer? I'm thinking about doing the "complete" set up. I had a great conversation with Dave yesterday.

No I don't...I will try to do some for guys....we played around last season but really didn't get the chance to do alot..timing an bad winter didn't help..but I will try very soon to do something. If I remember, with a db reducer installed it idle around 80db..that's with a 16" muffler with a stealth core ( tappered core )..cruising down the trail it is as quiet as stock..at WOT it does have some bark, but by no means is it offensive like an MBRP...best comparo is like a Hauck or Excell..very nice tone...again that's with a db reducer in.

Does anyone off chance know the stock mufflers db levels

That'd be great TVB...make ya a trade...Zaino seal for a db reading..lol...hey wait, that means you owe me from last season.

Hey Mach9, where is Hurricane performance located? I am in southern Ontario and looking for someone to help me with these kind of mods. I take it you are happy with his results and prices??
