For starters, they are forecasting 12-20" of snow this weekend for somewhere in MN. :-o Speed Channel is broadcasting the BIR Round 2 race on Saturday (The race Robbie won) and Yamaha is releasing the '08 line-up on Sunday. Does it really get any better than that? ;)!

Chances are though with our luck that the snow will miss Minnesota all together. Either that or it will be too warm and will rain. Only time will tell, but at least a guy can look forward to the 08 lineup!!

No kidding about the snow. The weather forcasters say they are not sure if it's going to be more rain or more snow. If they'd only check with me, I'd set them straight.....I dare mothernature to make me eat crow!!! LOL!!!

So frustrating to buy a new sled and only manage to get 30 miles on so far this winter. And those were riding around on a lake with minimal snow. Let's keep our fingers crossed that this storm actually works out!!

I got about 750 miles on this year. 430m in the UP, 175m in N. Wisc by Bayfield and the rest down home in LeSueur county. I may go back to the UP in March.

I'm sitting in the super 8 in Houghton right now.. wondering if we're heading home early or will be able to ride tomorrow. We put on 185 miles yesterday, and about 70 today.. It got warm, and the trails turned to slush and mud. Yesterday, we started in Copper harbor, and headed south on 3, not bad once we caught a groomer. then we did hit some bad spots on 17.. but we had some great riding. We went all the way south to Greenland and did trail 13 loop. It was great.

It rained all afternoon it seemed, so we put the sleds away, and went snow skiing... then bowling.. gotta make the best of it.. It did snow for about an hour perhaps, with only giving us 1/4 inch of snow so far... I guess we'll see when we wake up..

well we woke up to snow, some big flakes too.. so, I guess we're goin to try headin south towards the south range and see how the trails are. It's 16 out, so they should have refroze... just itching to find if they were able to groom or not..

talk later all,
joel

Here's the latest graphic from the National Weather Service with their prediction of snowfall amounts from Friday night thru Sunday. I live on the edge of the heaviest amounts. I'm sure it'll change, I never get that lucky.

I think we would be blessed to get the 6 they are talking about. I didn't think 15 inches was even being discussed, but it would certainly be nice while it lasted

i believe i will be heading to my great neighbors to the east if mother nature can bless them with that much snow. Maybe we get lucky in north dakota and the storm hits us to!

Unfortunately I don't think you will get much snow in ND...sounds like the track of the low will be too far east for you. The graph is right off of the National Weather Service website. Both Dave Dahl and Paul Douglas agreed that almost all of Southern MN will be seeing at least 10" maybe close to 18" in some locations. If we get the snow as forecasted, I will post in the lounge.

Our club maintains 65 miles of trails in Goodhue County. We grind all chisel plowing in our trail system which makes our trails some of the best in the area and we will groom (hasn't run all year, we better) Anyone is welcome to park their truck and trailer in our club parking lot which is 500 ft from the trail system. I'm sure the snow will be wet and heavy and should pack well so trails should be okay. We have a very nice clubhouse with a meeting room and full kitchen so stop in. Might even be planning a chili feed and poker run for next weekend if the snow sticks around. Again, IF it snows as advertised I will be riding this Sunday and plan on being in the groomer during the week next week. They are also saying another sizeable storm could hit this same area by next Wednesday into Thursday. We always have a lot of riders from the metro area come and ride our trails. Once again, if we get the snow I will post it along with my contact info and directions to our clubhouse. Everyone seems to be in agreement on this one and we are WAY overdue. KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED!!!

Well I griped yesterday about the missed snow Friday and half of Saturday on this post.......by then I thought I might have jinxed it, so I deleted the post. Looks like it worked. I got crow cooking in the oven right now and it smells so good!!! LOL!!!

Looks like the snowfall totals range from 8" up to 15" all over the state. Not bad.

We got 11 in here in Appelton Wisc as of noon here more on the way tonight I have my sled were are the trails here.
