I ran into these guys at Novi MI Snow Show, BiteHarder.com. They make tool bits for your cordless drill or professional tool bits for your die grinders to be able to sharpen your carbide runners or studs. I tried them out this weekend. I was really impressed how fast I could add an edge onto my dull carbides. The stud bit ripped a new point onto the carbide studs within seconds... very cool.
You will also see a nifty little adjustable stand that they also sell to allow you to sharpen the carbide wear bars on your sled... very trick.

My friend bought one of the carbide ski sharpeners last year at NOVI and they worked really good on his. We talked the the guy at NOVI and he said if you have carbides with like 7000 miles on your carbides like on my sled that it would not do as good of job. All and all they are a great product. The stud sharpener is cool tho.

Must be our server. It says "link removed" when I pull it up here at work. I pulled my head out of my backside and did a quick search and found them online already. My order has been placed.

Don't know about Stateside, but up here in Canada, these things are $80. Not worth it IMO.

They are diamond cutters... they are not going to be cheap.. For me I can sharpen quite a few carbides and still have control..well worth it in the areas we ride in WI when the snow is thin and the trails are supper icy.

I like the ski carbide tool. Seems like a great idea for guys that rids a lot of icy trails.
Looking at the stud sharpener i have a concern.
It looks like it cuts a nice angle into the tip of the stud itself. This concerns me because i fear it might be weakening the metal supporting the carbide and allow for the carbide tip to come out or break under hard use.
Nothing to back this up, just an concern based on an observation. Lol
Let us know how your resharpened studs/carbides hold up once you get 1000 or so miles on them.

I have one for carbides. Works well but you have to sharpen regularly. If it's all rounded, you might be able to get it somewhat sharp again but will take forever. The key is maintaining them.
