I bought and installed Simmons Gen I skis on my 2006 Vector GT. The skis were used off an RX. The used carbides had horrible wear on the front of the carbides and nearly no wear on the back. I put a 3/16" inch shim in the back of the ski mounts.
I installed dual 6" cutting carbides on each ski.
Has anyone else shimmed Simmons skis on a Vector, Rage or RX? Did this fix the darting problem? My OEM skis darted horribly in certain conditions.

that seems to be a problem. I removed my sim skis ovr the weekend and they had the same wear in the front. I will shim them when I reinstall.

yeah, the Simmons do seem to require shimming. I found the yamaha rubber stopper to be too soft, so it can compress, then you gotta add more shim
