Any suggestions for who to use for shipping a sled door to door? Two companies said they won't because the sled is too long. Sled is an attak.

You're gonna need a lot of stamps.

And a helluva big envelope.........

say, it's too bad you can't get the sled into one of those small boxes that ship for a low, low fixed rate..... :tg:

One piece at a time

I was looking at shipping a sled from down east. If it is in the shipping crate its easy and way cheaper then if its not. They never talked length.

Most haulers don't want the hassle of an uncrated sled. To easy to damage and takes up more room if they cant pile stuff on top of the crate. Plus loading and unloading is way easier in a crate with less chance of damage to the sled.

Door to door is not so easy as well because Purolator and UPS type carriers don't handle anything that big.

Freight carriers will but you pick it up at thier depot.

Call Mike at Port Yamaha. He shipped me my XTX cheap and in a crate. Estes was the trucking company.

Thanks for the help guys. I found a service online called USHIP. You tell them what you want to ship, they send bids your way. You get all kind of bids, from the big expensive haulers that you see on Ebay to the guy with a pick up and trailer looking to make some money. I guess it could be hit or miss, but the guy that picked my sled up could not have been better. Price was fair and service was good.
