Weight reasons it is. Every 7 pounds you lose, it's like gaining 1 h.p. I dont have many issues with the handling of my sled. When I was shopping for a Nytro, only XTX's were for sale. Ideally, I would like a RTX instead. But its cheaper to convert mine, rather than buying one.

I do not disagree about rotating weight but when you look at like say haydays grass drags why don't they race and win with short tracks? It seemed to me the fast sleds were all long tracks. All the extra horsepower is worthless until you get it to hook up. I would like to trade you sleds!!! I wish I had a xtx.

The XTX tip up is worthless, its a 144" on the trail.
Drag racing is a different story, I kick all the shortys #*$&@'s in a straight line contest.
More of a turning thing for me, my XTX has a 1.5" track, handels pretty darn good with the JRE kit, just a bit more understeer on the trail than I would like, getting ready to install Bergstrom 8" triple point carbides, that should do the trick.

If you had a '09 or newer, I'd think about it!

If you are still looking to goto a short track in the spring I would trade you everything you need to make it a short track in exchange for all XTX components. I have a 09 SE so same tunnel without the extension.

Revster,
Isn't yours stretched to a 136 now? I would be interested in doing this. I really dont have a need to have the 144" track. Maybe we need to PM, to go over the details.

The 136" Set up is great, I found the the 121" useless, I'm going to a 144" Iceage set up and I hope I'm doing the right thing. I found the 136" Faster, looks better and got stuck half as much.

Yes, but I have a 121" set-up as well. PM me if you want to.

Measure all mounting point on the RTX and transfer those points to the XTX skid and install. You need the same geometry as the RTX for the skid to work properly.

No measuring required sir. Same front mount point and the rear mount is a separate piece on both sleds. So you swap rear mounts when you swap skids and bolt/rivet in. The XTX has a longer mount and it goes further back on the tunnel. (This is for RTXs with the newer tunnel)

The rear mounting bolt on the RTX becomes the front mount bolt on the XTX mount.
