2013 stock FX shorty.

I am happy with the front end...the rear skid shocks notsomuch.
Almost NO rebound daping and not enough compression.
And they fade early.

Are the oem shocks able to be revalved decently or are new shocks required...(I think I knowthe answer)
Even valved right/better the early fading prolly won't be addressed?

Aggresive trail rider. I don't jump...much...but ride hard and in trashed out trails with mostly stutters and saller moguls rather tha the big craters and Gouts....we usually dn't have enough snow for the moguls to get too big!

Looking for better rebound and mor ecomprssion although still able to filter the lil junk....and fade resistance of course.

Of course I'm looking for reasonable cost/high quality/bulletproof stuff....did I mention reasonable??

Can the Nytro shorty skid be setup to work well?
I'm coming off of 25+ yrs of Polaris trail sleds.....likin' a lot about this Nytro as I get used to it and set it up...but this skid is harsh AND not overly capable in the bumps. Can usually get one or the other and both with the right shocks and $$

Is anyone swappin in a Polaris IQ skid? Seems like a good go...they work well and there are plenty of shock options....

Hygear has a pkg that's awesome for them. Can go from simple valving to their trail pro pkg which is I think 800ish and includes dual rate center spring plus new compression adjusters with more range. And better flow aswell as a bigger dia hose to resivor plus a bladder kit to replave the floating Pistons. I did it this summer and haven't noticed any the effects it had last year. Harsh, fading. No rebound control, etc etc

I did the Hygear sport package on my XTX skid shocks and love it. They are probably going to be due after this season as this is the second year after the re-valve and about 2500 on them so far.

I had hygear do my skid shocks..A 100% night and day difference, did the dual rate spring on my center shock..It truly is so much better..

I don't have a RTX...just a regular FX with the rebuildable but non rezzy no clicker shocks.

Is this Highgear setup using the RTX shocks as a baseline or all new shocks or??

I'm thinkin my non rezzy/non clicker shocks aren't suitable?
They can prolly be valved better but without rezzy's they will likely always fade??

Give them a shout. They can add resis an everything. All depends on what they have and what you wanna spend

there are quite a few options for the shorty shocks, most anyone can re-valve your re-buildable shocks. many companies can modify and add adjustable reservoirs and or modify the shocks you have. ebay is also an option, as well as the parts guys on here to buy a used set for modifications. there are two quality companies fairly close to you STAR SUSPENSION and also SHOCKTEC both are in Canada and both of them do very good work. please note..... make sure you don't BS your shock guy about weight and riding style as this can affect your out come as they will valve shocks according to the information provided, as they will never actually see you ride.

as far as aftermarket shocks there are lots of options available all depending on how much you want to spend (options=$$$) you usually get what you pay for.

I have had good luck with finding some quality used components and then having them serviced/re-valved for my weight riding style, you just have to look around and do your research so you can jump on a good deal when one arises. as a good deal usually doesn't last too long.

I just picked up a set of Fox Zero X from one of the racing sleds...got them from a guy on here great guy and gave me a nice deal...I plan on revalving them this spring they're way to firm for my liking but figured I'd get better quality shocks and send them to Hygear, to many durability issues with the stockers. Hygear did a great job on my 07 Nytro shocks.

there's a set for sale right now in the classified section right now.....just to let you know.

Totally agree with Stubb....
Any good shock guy that knows what he's doing can set you up with just a few simple questions.
Hygear is over rated for their stuff/ prices IMO.

My local guy is just as good, less turn around time & there to fix something if you don't like the way it rides.
Get it right, have fun.

You could give John at Accelerated Technologies call. He's in Buckhorn just north of Peterborough and he is amazing. He can revalue what you have or talk you into an upgrade. I had John do my GYTRs and it made my sled way more fun to ride. He carries Fox, Elka, and he's a Yamaha dealer so he can source any part you need. Very smart man, he taught me a lot about suspension set up. Good luck.

I guess what I'm looking for is real world experience with a proven setup...
Fox Zero Pros
Exits
HyGears

I'm pretty sure the oem non rezzy shocks aren't going to cut the mustard even revalved.
