As long as you have picks yes, no problem.

Probably pretty close. I would say...whoever is lighter and/or whoever has more studs will probably win that race. Everything else being equal, you should get him by a little. I would say this...before you race him, let him ride his then yours. He will feel the power of your sled and be too scared to race.

Stock, these sleds weren't that great. 600HO's are getting around them in 1/4 milers. The 05's were the slowest.

I don't know, I raced 1 last year and we stayed neck and neck across big diamond pond in NH. I'm a heavy weight @280lbs dry though, so that doesn't help me. He claimed it was stock with just updates?

I couldn't stop thinking about your post.
If you are a TRUE friend, let him win and bring a tow rope. He will need at least one good memory with that Fusion.
All kidding aside, that sled will probably not stay running for 500 miles. If it does, every nut and bolt inside the engine compartment will be so loose, the motor will want to fall out.

Well here is your best source. I have owned both and the A Fusion is the reason I am now a Yammy man. A properly set up Fusion will run with you and maybe even run you in a perfect situation. But race him at the start of the day and at the end and you will win. For a Fusion to run well they have to be set up motors re-alinged, clutches alinged and everything has to be perfect. Trust me that only last about 3 hrs of riding and then they need to be done again. If it is a normal Fusion you will walk away from him cause everything will be so far out of whack. I ran top speed on my Fusion of 114mph, but on average it would only pull 103-105 in good conditions. At the end of it's life it got beat by a pro-X 600 with a heavier guy on it. Good luck to our buddy.
Not all the 900's were slow.Mine was never slow and beat alot of big iron. For the most part you should beat a 900 fusion as they need alot of work to run.If you run against a guy who knows how to wrench don't be surprised if he beats you.I will be on yammie soon but will keep my mod 900 fuze.

His Fusion is an 05 and it has had all of its updates. The thing had 51 miles on it when he bought it. He's not studded yet but he will be by the weekend. I have 144
You should win as I would think he doesn't know all the little things that has to be done to the 900 to make it run like a true 900.I will say you will win.

I dont know about the fusions.. (ive heard they dont run good stock) But i will tell you i can beat a Stock ZR900 DD by 2-3 sled lengths... STOCK FOR STOCK..
Both sleds have about the same topend..
Both sleds have about the same topend..

I swapped wins with an 05 900 fusion over several runs and i am a heavyweight..... with equal riders my attak would stomp him.......

OK like kurtz and a couple of others stated,if the confusion runs at 7500-7600 rpms on the big end you may get wacked,i have seen some of them run 117-119 gps or radar, but than they went boom!! If you run him in a short distance you have a much better chance of a loss, but if you can get him to run you for a 1/2 to 1 mile you may beat him bad,he will either be around 7000 rpm at that distance which means he would only be running around 105 or he would have blown his belt by than,or maybe ran out of gas,or shook so bad from vibration he fell off,lol and yes i am talking from exsperiance,i had a so so 05 fusion 50th blue one,and very best i could get out of it was 110 gps on perfect ice,but it was very quick to 100 mph so pick your race carefully, not all of them were poochs..... good luck.

I'm not to sure about the fusion but a buddy of mine has an '06 900 Switchback and he thought he was going to smoke me cause his sled was about 60lbs lighter. Well, I'm about 20lbs heavier than him, that's a total of 80-85lbs his advantage and I walked away from him on the river pretty bad. Glad to say I don't have to listen to the weight argument from at least one person anymore.
