I came across a Turbo Viper for sale on Facebook the other day. In the list of upgrades he mentions the use of a sidewinder Fuel Pump and surge tank assembly.

Im just curious as to how this would work and what the benefits would be over the stock Viper pump?

Being its turbocharged it requires more fuel than a na engine. I would suspect a Winder pump has higher flow rate and or higher pressure output than a Viper pump. Same reason the Winder guys with the high horsepower tunes upgrade there pumps

I kinda figured that would be the case. I have a message to the guy asking how he went about installing it and what not.

Pressure output is the same, it would work just fine for a turbo Viper. What it does is allow more fuel flow to the injectors, you would need the pump & regulator off the end of the fuel rail. I do this upgrade from time to time on turbo Vipers. It still maintains 43 psi of fuel pressure when there is no boost (just like a stock Viper) but the Sidewinder system adds 1 psi of fuel pressure for every 1 psi of boost it sees.

Would there be a benefit with going to a sidewinder pump with a 190 MPI kit?!?! Especially when bigger injectors are added? Seems like it would be more beneficial if it was a 240 or 270 kit.

Bigger injectors are good up to approximately 300 horsepower with the stock fuel pump, so there's really no reason to upgrade.
