Last spring I attended Sidewinder unveiling at my local dealer. The rep told me clutch weights were 84 gram and helix was straight 43 degree. Well upon receiving my sled I checked and weights are only 73 gram.
Is helix straight 43 or was he wrong there too????

DranttelSS is correct. The manual from my LTX-LE specs a straight 35 helix.

I had a 45/41 helix on my Viper I believe and I could race with the 800 doos with a few mods. I want to get the most out of my rtx le so looking at the different angles of helixs you have any input to what numbers to go with studded and stock tune maybe some clutching that's all.

Hi Bleedyamaha, we do not do "kits" or set ups, rather we supply components to the companies that do (or people and shops who know what they want to test), but with the new helixes just coming out now, I'm sure lots more testing will be done to develop the more common "zone" of helixes that are used for different applications. It is important to remember that all things must be equal when comparing "what is a good helix", and that the helix that is right for someone may not be right for others.
For instance if any HP difference, gearing, traction, weight, or ANY of the clutch components being used in either one of the clutches is different than the person suggesting it....the same helix may not be relevant to your application at all.
PS sorry for the delay. As mentioned we are not always on forums. If you ever have questions, the best way is by email. You can email at any time and we will always answer quickly just go to www.daltonindustries.com and click "contact us".

A roller clutch helix generally acts like 6 ish degrees more.. So 41 button equivalent.... To me it needs more finish angle ala reverse angle like 35/41

Hi snowbeast, hope all is well !
helixes will be available soon and I'm sure lots will start testing and sharing some info. But as mentioned in my earlier reply #9 , lots of variables.
New model sled, new model clutch, helixes coming soon, you know how it is.
Working on new secondary spring designs for options here as well.
