- Yamaha Sidewinder MTX 2019
Hello! I have a Sidewinder MTX 2019 and my Yamaha dealer have mounted a skid plate who look like yours. They have not drilled any holes so water will drain. I see in your post that you was going to do that. Have you done it ? And do you think it is necessary do it it too prevent water/ice building up ?Finally got the sled home. Here are a cpl pix of the skidplate

Where they cut by the exhaust is still kinda close. When I get around to it I think I will trim that area a bit more. Also going to add a few small holes in the ribbed parts so any water that ends up there will drain.

Hey-
No I never bothered drilling any holes. Normally I'm not in real deep snow so for me it never really became an issue. I see you have an MTX though and I'm guessing you will be riding the deep stuff. So it may be a good idea to put a few small holes in any of those ribs that stick down. I don't think I would go crazy with them. But maybe a few just so any snow you force into the plate can drain when it melts. Happy Riding
