Sidewinder Vs. Viper

On the verge of ordering a Sidewinder and letting go of the Vipers and have one last question. I love the viper going corner to corner in the twisty stuff, how similar in handling is the Winder to the Viper. I am guessing that it is too much engine to keep the revs up and really rip through tight trails?

It's all about your right thumb. Wait till you turn up the boost. It's crazy how little throttle it takes to get corner to corner in a hurry. With the nytro I am all or nothing most of the time. With the winder turned up I'm under 1/2 throttle till the trail really opens up. The power is really controllable though.

12 makes me smile. 12 and W are the two that my screen name comes from. If a Winder can run the west loop of 12 like I want to I'll have permagrin. Lol, if the winder can can hold the switchbacks on 12 well enough to get me to the ice on W first all people are going to see is a blue and yellow vapor trail.

I have ridden both. My 10cents is that the SW can behave very mannerly if you want it to. There is a weight difference but it is not stifling like an apex. I never felt in a corner that the chassis couldn't handle the weight. The acceleration out of a corner is impressive. You make your speed up, out of a corner in a second. The 1049 makes a lot of noise but really doesn't compare to this boosted engine at all.

The SW could be ridden by anyone in stock form. Yamaha has it clutched so it is very smooth. IMO it is rather mild until about 45 MPH, then you can feel it building boost.
