Hi, guys. I want to upgrade my center shock from the stock gas shock to either a fox float 3 or fox zero pro. Any one know what the length of the sock is??

I have an XTX and went to HYgear for there center shock dual rate spring change and seemed to work out very well. the biggest improvement is getting there pro linkage and getting rid of the float. I tried the pro linkage and went for the dual presure for the float and it worked much better than stock but the custom Axis shock is on a whole different level. I ride NY and the trails really get beat up from heavy traffic so good shock package and set up is everything. in Maine just the pro linkage and front spring change would probably work very well for you. Trails in Maine are smooth highways compared to Tug Hill NY.

JPS, does your sled still transfer weight back on acceleration/deep snow like an original XTX?

Thanks JPS for the help, im definitely gonna order that dual rate spring. It's hard going from evols back to normal floats. Was it a pain to put in?? And it's pretty awesome being in Maine. I can be in Greenville or Jackman in about 3hours from my house.

You will loose a little transfer with the pro linkage but it still transfer well, much better than an LTX. with the Pro linkage the suspension is much smoother going through the travel especially in bumps up to 10 inches or so. My girlfriend rides the Viper XTX 141 and i have the Pro Linkage in hers also with dual presure on the rear float and have hers dialed better than my sidewinder. she loves the ride but she is much lighter than me if that has anything to do with it?? on the Viper i did go to the fox QS3r's on the front and maybe with that improvement on the front it allows the rear float to be able to get along better because the front is really doing its job?? if that makes any sense? I weigh 260 with gear and she is 125 with gear. I always had a hard time getting a sled suspension to work good for her weight but i kinda of nailed a set up for her. she loves the Viper XTX and i am still working on mine. I rode a SW XTX with a Custom Axis rear shock and QS3r's on the front and that sled handled AWSOME!! $900 is a lot of cabbage for 1 rear shock, I am thinking for this year to ditch the floats on the front and go for the QS3r's on my SW and see how much better overall it makes my sled, maybe i can live with the rear float?? Call Hygear and talk to them on spacifically what your looking to get from your suspension, they are very good to deal with and between Cat and yamaha XTX they know that suspension very well.

you are lucky with your Maine play ground, I rode 700 miles last year out of the Forks for a long weekend and really did enjoy my SW there. Very much Different than Tug Hill NY. I have 2 trips planned for this season already to Maine one to the Forks and one to Shin Pond. Its worth the 9+ hour drive to not beat the hell out of your sled and body.

Thanks JP, am looking at getting QS3r's for the front and will be doing something for the rear. Just can't decide which way to go, last couple years not much snow so no hurry to dump money into my sled !
