Upgrade Shocks for LTX SE

I have the SE model and would like to upgrade the shocks. I am an aggressive trail rider.

I have looked on Fox website and it doesn't list anything for LTX. Can someone get me the part number for the fox rear shocks kit...I think the are QS3-R's?

As for the front shocks, should I keep the Fox® 1.5 Zero™ RC or upgrade those and what are you guys recommending?

You want to order them from CAT, I think they were really well priced through country cat if I recall....

Get the Qs3R all around IMO....make it an LE and for the price you cant go wrong.

What he said, air shocks wont ride as good as coils.

Its up to you what you want to to, but shop around. The QS3R shocks are good, but there are better shocks out there. I changed my front QS3s with a set of 1.5 zero rc2s, and the ride is a little bit better now. There is a big difference in quality from the OEM performance series Fox shocks compared to the Factory series. Also, my qs3rs are always on position 2. Position 1 is too soft and 3 is too hard.

I am not sure what a full set of QS3Rs cost from yamaha or arctic cat, but if its not that much more to get either the real fox zero's, or custom axis shocks or elka stage 5s. If you are planning on keeping the sled for a few years, buying a better set of shocks will probably pay off.

I went with the Axis shocks for mine and love them. I have ridden with the stock Fox, QS3R, and Axis and the Axis are number 1, QS3R number 2. The Axis come at a premium though.

Always better shocks avail....but the stock qs3r are priced really well IMO as i said in my post. But if money is no object then by all means you can go nuts on shocks.

I've had the best luck with Hygear, just telling them what I want and sending them whatever shocks I had...hpg, fox. I have an SE, and am very happy with ride and bump response, but if the day comes I want more, they will go to hygear for a balanced shock and spring package for my weight and the way I ride. I remember some old posts by shock guys and how the valving is everything...and why some doos ride really well.

Qs3r sounds like a clicker shock that the clicker never gets used. A revalve, spring package from hygear is the best bang for the buck. Mike Carver is a great guy to deal with also. Lots of great options.

I installed the factory series 1.5 Zero rc2s on my zr limited and sold my qs3s. Qs3s were nice but the 1.5s were even nicer. Saving to do the same with the skid next.

I agree. No generic shock package has been as good as a custom hygear setup, for the way you want to ride. JMO. I've spent plenty on Ohlins, etc, aftermarket shocks, springs, etc, and while many times a noticeable improvement, hygear gets it right. Or at least as good as it's gonna get given the sled's oem suspensions.
