Have been watching all the different opinions and could not find a post with this exact topic on it so here goes.....
Would you chose SLP Tri - Keel, Powder Pro, SLT, or Simmons?? I ride a warrior in 95% groomed trails in Maine, some open fast, some slow and narrow, so looking to ask those who actually have them for input. Lets get the opinions of those that have them for real feed back!!!
After all the rough trails in Maine right now I have almost destroyed my stock ski's ... 8) So thought what better way than to upgrade and keep the stock ones for "early season" and spring conditions.
BTW, I would like to thank all those who always give feed back, I have learned so much from you all and greatly appreciate this open exchange of info compared to other site's!!!!

Ski-Doo Precision are my favorite.

I can only speak for the Simmons vs Stock w/ Doolys. After 600 miles I sold the Simmons skis. They increased the steering effort and with 2 other sleds in my group using them, the Simmons LOVE to follow another set down the trail 8)
US retail for 2 ski bottoms (you color choice) and 2 mounting kits is $399.88

Are you talking about the ones that have the two runners (and carbides I assume)???

I'd be real interested in this as well. I was running SLP SLTs on my VMAX 700, great skis with the optional sppon that eliminates darting totally.
But I don't think they carry enough carbide stock to handle the Warrior, unless you eliminate the spoon and stick on the longer carbides, which would raise the darting issue again.
I'd also like a bit more flotation than stock to deal with the occasional off-trail venture...

Yes, dual runner tunnel design. I love them on mine.

I haven't used anything but the Simmon's and the stockers on my RX-1M. The Simmon's are quite good when setup right. On my MSRX they worked great but on my RX-1M I'm not as convinced they are the best thing since sliced bread. Yes, they work better than the stockers without a doubt but they are super critical to ski alignment. Picture 4 carbides cutting through the hard packed snow. If they aren't all running perfectly parallel you lose a huge amount of steering ability AND power. I check my ski alignment before each ride just to make sure the ski alignment is correct. I am guessing lack of alignment COULD bleed off over 5+ mph on top end. That's not to say the super deep keel on the stockers OR the Powder Pros look much better for conservation of energy. That deep keel has got to have severe energy costs in hard packed conditions especially if your alignment is a tad bit more than what's called for in the book. I am thinking with the Simmon's OR the other deep keels having your skis parallel to each other is critical.
As far as experiences with the Simmon's? They don't dart much UNLESS you are following tracks made by other Simmon's or Skidoo dual runner skis. When you are the Simmon's even dart (sometimes violently).
I surely am a Simmons fan and have been for years (in fact Verlin Simmon's had me demo and report back to him a preproduction pair in 1994). I ended up breaking one of them and he has since beefed them up in the critcal areas.
The weight distribution on the RX-1 is a little different that other sleds. The front end is SO heavy that maybe a different length carbide, a shallower carbide, a shallower tunnel on the ski bottom or something else is needed to strike the ski nirvana I have experienced with the Simmon's on other sleds? I want to try the Powder Pros at some point too. They sure are wider than the Simmon's (6 vs 7 inches) but I honestly can't say how the two compare. I hope this helps. PB

Yes I went back to stock w/Doolies and I have 2400 miles in northern ME and CA. PB hit the nail on the head, alignment and not riding with others with Simmons and they are not bad. When you do a couple 300 mile days it's nice to have straight tracking and a low steering effort
Ski-Doo now offers a universal mounting kit to fit Yamaha, Arctic cat and Polaris
#860508200
Last year the universal kit was not avail. I made my own bushings.
