Many including myself have had great success with snowtrackers on the conventional yamaha single keel skis. Snow trackers are available for the tuner and my rep claims they improve the tuner, but they do not work as well as snowtrackers on the conventional single keel ski.

I now have a solution to retrofit the conventional single keel skis onto procross. I mill down the pocket and then install some offset bushings so the procross spindle and ski rubber will fit.

All you need to do is trim the ribs off the bottom of the ski rubber.

$150 for a set of good used skis ready to bolt right onto a Viper and Sidewinder. I have Red, blue and black loops.

Bringing this back up to the top. Last year I was unable to come up with a ski rubber that would allow the traditional yamaha single keel skis to work. On my father's Viper we milled out the bottom of the ski so we could get a ski rubber in to work. We tested them all season with snowtrackers and they worked great. Milling out skis is not practical, so this summer I've developed some offset bushings that will allow the skis to work with the stock cat ski rubbers and bolt right up. You just install the bushing into the ski and then it serves as a guide to drill the higher mounting hole through saddle.

Once I have these bushings finalized, putting single keel skis on the sidewinder will be very easy on the wallet beings there are so many good used Yamaha skis around.

My bud put the SnowTrackers on his 2018 unstudded 137'' last year & they are amazing! They turn easy, no darting & never push.
I run Curves with SlimJims on my studded 137'' and although my set-up is a better all around ski, his turns as easy with more precision.
For $250 they can't be beat.

Have you run snowtrackers on your old apex skis? If so just curious how they compared to tuner skis with trackers? Swear by them on single keel, but yet to try them on tuners as my rep says not quite as good as single keel set up.

I ran them on my Apex stock skis after years of running 5.7 Pilots.
I would say the 5.7's set up properly were a tick better on good trails, but the Trackers were better on everything else especially with powder or new snow.

I rode buds' Sidewinder on very hard pack almost icy trails because he was having a tough time with no studs. They stuck real good in corners like it was on rails. Mine was pushing a bit, but i have studs so it's a very difficult comparison. When the trails got good, i was unbeatable on his sled. Beyond hard packed trails though, the Curves seemed to be better. Most likely because the Tuners are short & skinny. I also have the deep powder attachments on my Curves so any new snow the Curves are way better. My skis were well over $500 with all the goodies.

If someone asks me the best "bang for the buck" on groomed trails, i'll recommend the SnowTrackers every time. You wouldn't even know it's the same ski if i didn't tell you. Easy steering & very positive turning without darting.
I'm actually getting a pair for the first ride of the season because the County has big fast trails & i'm looking to do some CARVING!

Why not just buy the snowtrackers for curves?

Curves are a great ski... they float and are a great ski for the trails.
Put semi aggressive trackers on them and it took the ski to a whole other level on the trails.
Only additional thing I did was shim the saddle because I found them to be a little nose heavy. Once done I was using 100% of the carbide.

I was going to call them to see if they had one that fits. I guess they do.
My biggest issue is the stock skis fit in my truck better & i'll be using my truck first ride of year.
I was going to swap skis to compare on exact sled, but i think i've changed my mind & will try them on the Curves.

When I first started selling trackers they didnt list them for curve. Knowing they have same stud pattern as c/a i had my rep send me a set and did a test fit. Cobra above bought one of first sets for a curve from me and put big miles on them. I can set you up with a set if thats direction you want to go.

Smooth move Travis! I think you already have my Credit Card #. LOL
I'm going to try them. I'm actually happy with the SlimJims, but there is always room for improvement.
I'll call you Tuesday.

How thick was the shim you added?

I wanted to shim mine, but I could barely get the skis on with new rubbers. Now that they've broken in i'll see if i can shim them.
