Has anyone bought a Yamaha skid plate (SMA-8FA34) lately and had problems with it not lining up with the holes in the bulkhead and nose? When I added one to my Warrior a few years ago there were no problems but adding this one to my '12 Vector is different. Appears that the holes are off about 3/4" and if I get 2 of the front screws in the bulkhead, the 2 screws for the nose are way short and it is at least 3/4 short of lining up with the 2 rear bulkhead holes.
The unit itself looks like it was a bad mold because it is warped and a little distorted. I am going to call the dealer tomorrow to see if they will exchange it.

Had the same problem on my Vector. I drilled out the holes to a larger size and it worked. My skid plate is also (SMA-8FA34) same as yours. After drilling out the plate holes, start all screws first then tighten them up.

If I hog out the holes as much as mine would take to align, the washers on the screws won't cover the holes and hold the plate!!
Someone else posted that they also had the problem and used a heat gun to stretch/reshape the plate.
It would seem Yamaha - or their vendor - has a problem with manufacturing these plates to spec.
