Well I finally got my Skinz float plate installed. I was a little edgy about drilling holes into a brand new machine but all went pretty well... The only thing was I didn't put the center screws in as it seems pretty sturdy without them and I didn't want to drill into the subframe as it sounds as though they are already a weak link on these sleds.

I really like the blue it is a perfect match.

Let us know how you like it when you get some time on it. I had one on my MTX and hated it. It kept getting snow built up under it and falling off.

ya it comes with a template now to cut a hole in the bottom to allow the snow and ice out but I decided just to drill a few 1 1/4" holes in the low point to allow the snow to drain for now... if I need to cut the big hole later I can always do that.

I run a Skinz float plate. No template hole or any drain holes.

Ice can build up in there for sure.

I did two easy things to help with the ice pop-off issue.

1) Put big diameter fender washers on the four bolts that bolt up from underneath

2) replaced the stock front bumper hardware with two U-bolts (bolts on top/ inside)

Mine has taken some big hits and it has been LOADED with heavy snow and ice from riding Lake Tahoe.

Littlehoe, It will break the brackets off if you dont reinforce it. The ones they send will break when it fills full of snow.

sonds,
