I have an '08 Nytro MTX and I am thinking of getting the Skinz Tunnel Kit. I purchased the sled used and the previous owner had put cinch hooks on the tunnel and four straps to tie something down (e-series bag from Sled Solutions maybe). Trouble is, the way they are mounted now a bag or anything tied to the tunnel will be pretty close to the exhaust, even though it does have a turnout.

I am concerned if I remove some of this gear that the swiss cheese will weaken the tunnel. I am an aircraft mechanic and have access to solid rivet and I think I would buck solids in the unused holes.

Anyhow my plan is to remove the tail light, put on the Skinz Tunnel kit (partly for the strength of the bumper), and install a Skinz LED tail light. This would allow me to put a bag farther aft, away from the exhaust. It'll probably be the E-Series again. I'll probably reposition the cinch hooks back so I can carry fuel if needed in place of the bag.

Any suggestions? Comments?

Other projects this summer will be(in no particular order):
-Ulmer Stage 2HE turbo (I live at the base of the Bighorns at 4K feet, meet the trail at 5K and I am between 7-9K for most of my rides.

-Bye Bye Maverick, hello Challenger Extreme

-Roll Over Tether

i would definitely just order the tunnel extension from rat sled .

it has built in suspension brackets and the tunnel is tipped up a few degrees . i really wish i had purchased this rather than timbersled brackets .
