I have 1000 miles on the XTX, made some adjustments and got it to handle very good now! Only complain is it stears hard, it takes a lot to ride agressive in the turns. Theres no ski lift so i'm assuming my ski presure is good, which it seems to be fine. Just wondering if the after market skis would help make it stear easier? Or the duly carbides? I dont really need more bits, so putting on some 8inch duly carbides seems like overkill. Any suggestions?!
Also, ice build up seems to be an issue, riding along yesturday ice fell and actually locked my track up for a second or two. I would think that when a block of ice that is 5 inches think gets shoved in a 2 inch space at 80mph it could break the heat exchangers up front? Any thoughts?!
Thank for any input!

I'm 5'8, 145lbs. I know the sled comes stock for 225lbs i beleive. So at first it was way to stiff, and WAY to much ski preasure. So on the front, i moved the rebound and dampening clickers softer by 3 clicks, I released the spring preasure by about an 1/2 of inch. On the rear, i have the clicker all the way on the softest, moved the triangler block to soft. Also took spring preasure of the front spring (by the limiter straps) by about a half inch.

Whitty,
You may want to check to see if the ice chunks caused any damage to the toop of your front pivot arm.
Take a look at this link http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=67479 .... Maybe an ice chunk caused these track spacer brackets to break off???

I found stock skis very easy to steer. When I put on Simmons skis steering got a lot harder. I love the way it tracks straight on rutted trails now.

I bought a pair of Woodys duel runner carbides and it was night and day. I can't compair them to a new set of skis, but my sled is "almost" on rails since I added them. Still tweaking the set-up a bit. The carbides will cost you about $130.00 for a set.

I did similar to you. I am 180 and 6'3". I reduced the ride height on the springs from 2.75 inches to 2.25 inches. I have not adjusted the compression or rebound yet on the front as I have not seen fit. I reduced the ride height on the rear buy about .25 inches. I increased the compression one click and turned the rear spring back to medium from hard. The hard setting got to bouncy for me and was not using enough travel. I have no ski lift any more. The skis still suck though. I was going to get some new ones but instead got a tekvest. Maybe next year. But I need to get this sled into some big bumps to see if it will bottom out, but right now it is not bottoming out like it did before. The handling is night and day different with lowering the front end.

I went with the 6.9 Pilot mtns. It steers nice on the trail and they float great in the powder, And i have never owned a sled that has turned circles a dime in a parking lot or plowed road like my XTX with the pilots on it, i had to spin my old mans Apex ltx around at the gas station it seemed like i needed a football field size space to spin it around compared to the XTX
