Chaincase
Your lucky you are not in Fort Kent Maine... ROGERS would have said it was your fault and would have tried to charge you over $1100 to fix! Than call Yamaha to try to have your warranty voided!
I will never forget my experience there and will continue to tell everyone who will listen!

YamaBert said:Yea....just got back from taking the chaincase side crap off so I could get a look inside. Chain snapped. Funny think is it didnt make any loud noise or anything like that when it happened like one would think. Glad I took a look though.
The intriguing part is the fact that there was virtually no chaincase oil inside of it. Looked at chaincase assembly and it looked like it was fine and sealed up tight. Where the hell did it all go?

The chain-case cover has been up-dated. There have been problems with the cover leaking oil from warp when heating up after long 100mph+ runs. Try a new gasket but be diligent in checking for leaks you may need the up-dated cover. Good luck.
When was the chaincase cover updated? I have an 08 ltx, does it have the new cover?
